AERRL/CER/EIM/UIP/UITP/UNIFE defined a common position on the new Connecting Europe Facility, where they call for an ambitious co-funding. Among the priorities highlighted in the position paper, AERRL would like to draw particular attention to

-the coordinated ERTMS deployment on cross-border sections and core network corridors, including the onboard units for international traffic.  

-a smooth migration from the current GSMR telecommunications system, based on 2G technology, to its successor FRMCS.

-a support to innovate and modernize towards net-zero emission locomotives

– DAC, under certain conditions.
